Where Is God?
Where Is God?
by Dr. Detra Bishop
"Why, O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?" (Psalm 10:1, NIV)
Are ther times when you feel that God is out of your reach, that you are not connecting? I am sure there have been times like that for many Christian believers. There were times like that for some of the biblical characters as well.Take Elijah, for instance, who hide in the cave because he thought he was the only prophet of God left in Israel (1 Kings19). God reminded Elijah that there were seven thousand prophets in Israel on reserve, "all of whose knees have not bowed to Ball and all whose mouths have not kissed him" (v. 18).
When you are feeling discourage, feeling like the Lord is standing far off, just remember that God is just as near as your next prayer. Remember that you are not alone, and that God has people everywhere. God is not hiding from you. God is just a prayer away.

Yes . . . God is just a prayer away. How often we forget that . . . simply in the midst of the business and busy-ness of making a living and caring for the family.
God is just a prayer away.
Thanks for the timely reminder . . .

I wouldn't say that God hides himself in the times of trouble. We just don't see him sometimes, refuse to see.

The ultimate question of life and eternity. How can we know God exists? How can we relate to Him?
