Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Galatians 5:14, NLT).

What's motivating our actions?

When faced with frightening decisions to make, we need to do whatever we must do in love. Love has many beautiful qualities that we can use to gauge our actions: joy, peace, paticence, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). Therefore, before we take that next step or make that next big decision, consider what the end result will be. If the end result does not produce any of the fruits of the spirit, which are characteristics of love, then we will probably regret that decision or action. If the end result is not something that we would be pleased with in our own life, then it is very unlikely that we are not showing the kind of love that we want to receive.

Lord God, our ever present help in trouble, please help us do whatever we must do in love. Help us to truly love our neighbor as ourself. Amen.

The SNARE is BROKEN: We Have ESCAPED!

The SNARE is Broken: We Have ESCAPED

We escaped like a bird from a hunter's trap. The trap is broken, and we are free! (Psalm 124:7, NLT)

A snare is defined as a device, usually consisting of a noose, for capturing birds or small animals; anything serving to entrap, entangle, or catch unawares; trap; to catch or involve by trickery or wile. Psalm 124 uses a simile to compare the devices used by the devil to entrap us with the instrument hunters use to trap birds. There are many vices and devices that the devil utilizes to trap, confuse, or otherwise perplex us. According to Colossians 3:5-9, the following are a few: shameful desires, sexual sin, impurity, lust, greed, anger, malicious behavior, slander, dirty language, and lying.

I am sure you can think of many others. In fact, the Lord said that there were several things in Proverb 6:16-19 that he would not stand for: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows, and discord among brethren.

How does the enemy use these vices and devices against us? First of all, he creates DOUBT to make us question God's Word and God's goodness. Second, the adversary promotes DISCOURAGEMENT to make us look at our problems rather than at God. Third, he stirs up DIVERSIONS to make the wrong things seem attractive so that we will want them more than the right things. Fourth, satan fakes DEFEAT to make us feel like a failure so we don't even try. Fifth and lastly, that old deceiver and father of lies develops DELAY to make us put off doing something so that it never gets done.

But praises be to God! God sent Jesus Christ down through 42 generations to break the snare and to set us free. In Jesus, FAITH replaces doubt, ENCOURAGEMENT takes the place of discouragement, FOCUS dissolves discouragement, HOPE outshines any type of defeat, and RELEASE is the Lord's secret weapon for fighting delay! What a mighty God we serve.

The snare is broken, and we have escaped! The trap has been sprung, and we are free! Read and study the following passages to gain strength in whatever situation you are facing at this season in your life: Psalm 91, Psalm 25:15, Psalm 27, Psalm 37, 1 Corinthians 10:13, and 2 Timothy 2:22.

What Do We Do?

The news is filled with various reports of violence and other tragedies around the world. It would seem that everything is simply falling apart right before our eyes. What's really going on? Many opinions are offered about what different people think of current world news. But does anyone really have the insight to say?

For those of us who say we are Christians, the answer lies within the Word of God. We have only to examine what the Bible is saying about current world events and unusual natural disasters to conclude that Jesus is definitely on his way back. The year, month, day, and hour is not known, however, it is a certainty that Jesus will return. We cannot afford to get caught up in the WHEN--just know that it is so. What, then, must we do while we wait? This question can be best answered by asking another question: What has he told YOU to do?

Each of us must stay busy doing what God has called and commanded us to do individually and collectively. Meaning what? As one called and ordained to preach/teach the gospel, I must preach and teach the Word of God. As a follower (Christian, disciple) of Jesus Christ, I must be a witness and servant to others in a more general sense: (1) feed the hungry, (2) give water to the thirsty, (3) show hospitality, (4) clothe the naked, (5) care for the sick, and (6) visit those in prison (Matthew 25:31-46).

Know what you are called, ordained, or commissioned to do and get busy with God's business. What is the role of the church in all of this? The church is the collective witness and servant of Jesus Christ. The church as the collective witness has the same mandate as individual Christians. However, pastors and other church leaders are responsible for leading the congregation into the work of the ministry of Jesus Christ. How do we do that? BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!!

Season to See: Beware of the Scribes

And in the hearing of all the people he said to his disciples, "Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation" (Luke 20:45-47, ESV).

Why do you do what you do? If you serve to be seen of men, then your service to God is in vain. Leaders in today's churches must be alert at all times. We cannot afford to be perceived as beggars or "prophets for hire" because of the way we conduct our ministries. The Word of God is clear about what we are called to do, which is to take care of those who are in need.

What need does your ministry provide for? The answer to that question is personal and corporate. Personally, what are you called to do? Corporately, what is the mission of your organization? What you are called to and the mission of your organization must be compatible; otherwise, you will find yourself "kicking against the prick." I encourage you to view your situations through the lens of the Holy Spirit. Ask God what your purpose is and discover where you can best serve that purpose.

This is the season to see. See what God has done for us by sending his Son, Jesus. See what God has for you serve God by ministering to the needy. See where God want you to serve by staying open to the movement of the Holy Spirit as you pray for guidance. Finally, be careful not to be seen as a scribe who wants all the glamor and glory--one who positions himself or herself in places of honor, but fails to be sincere in worship and service.

Pregnant with Promise

God’s people have been barren for some time and have begun to doubt that their dreams, ministries, and promises will be birthed. But God is sending his good Word to let us know that he has heard our prayers and it doesn’t matter how long it has been or how incapable we think we are (where you are weak, God is strong) God's will must come forth and ministries and blessings will be birthed. And for those who don’t believe they will be silenced until it happens (Luke 1:22, 62-64). Don’t tell all that God has promised you. People will see when the time comes.

You can’t hide a pregnancy for nine months. There will be evidence of what God is doing and when it is time, there will be undeniable evidence of the goodness of God. Just like the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears, your worship (through your life) is evident. When God starts moving and changing you in the inside, there will be signs of change on the outside. Every tree must bear fruit to show there is life and your fruit will bear witness to what God is doing within you.

Be Thankful For All Of God's Benefits

Psalm 103:1-5 invites us to bless God and God's name with our whole being--to remember everything God has done and will continue to do for us.

(1) God forgives all our iniquity or sins
(2) God heals all our diseases
(3) God redeems our life
(4) God crowns us with steadfast love and mercy
(5) God satisfies us with good for as long as we live

Be thankful to God because God will forgive us when we repent of our shortcomings and disobedience. Be thankful to God because God can heal cancer, aids, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. Be thankful because God will save us froom ourselves and eternal damnation. Be thankful because God is faithful and liberal in showing us love and mercy--unconditional tenderness and compassion. Be thankful to God because God will continuously fill us with new energy in order for us to enjoy all the good things that he provides for us: health, family, friends, wealth, and a bountiful Thanksgiving Table.

The saving presence of God alone is reason enough to be grateful this Thanksgiving holiday and everyday!

"Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonmderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he hs done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced" (Psalm 105:1-5).

FAVOR

Evidence of Favor

How do you know you are walking in God's FAVOR? Read Genesis. Genesis is replete with situations that point to God's favor.

God said when we have his favor, we do not need anything else. Favor will open doors that no man can close. When you have the favor of God:

1. Gen. 39:22           You have the confidence of your superiors.
2. Gen. 39:23           Your work prospers.
3. Gen. 39:23           You are given special authority.
4. Gen. 40:5             You have discernment.
5. Gen. 40:8             You recognize when God is working and reverence it.
6. Gen. 4012            You operate in wisdom.
7. Gen. 40:20-23      You speak words of truth.

It's been said, "Favor ain't fair, but it's in the Book." What does this phrase mean. It can be interpreted to mean that situations where favor is granted may seem unfair to others; however, God has allowed you to receive blessings that someone else may think he or she deserves.

Favor does not mean you deserve what you received. FAVOR indicates that God saw fit to allow you the opportunity to walk in a place that had already been reserved for you (for God's purpose). God knows the end from the beginning; therefore, God knew yesterday what next year would hold for your life. Since God's favor is lifelong. How do you keep it? You stay in a position of favor with God by walking in obedience to God's will for your life. How do you know God's will? Seek it out through fasting, prayer, and study of God's Word. God will reveal what you are to do with your life as you surrender to God's way and not your own way of doing things.

During these 10 days of preparation - - you are now half-way there - - Half-way to your prophetic future in this new season of God! This is a word of encouragement for you to "Keep Pressing and Leave Your Past Behind!"

Paul said in Philippians 3:13-14 - I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

The enemy wants to keep you looking back - - Back over your past mistakes, back over your past regrets, back over your traumatic experiences. All the things you've done in the past that was not so pretty - - all the things you've done in the past that you're ashamed of, etc. etc. etc. If the enemy can keep you looking back you will never press forward to cross over into your inheritance! "No one having put his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

You might not be able to obliterate the past from your memory - - but you must REFUSE to let the past obstruct your progress! Satan does not want you to claim your inheritance! He does not want you to have the spiritual and material assets available to you as a "seed of Abraham" and a "joint-heir with Christ Jesus!" He wants to use up your energies keeping your focused on the past so that you can't reach forward for your prophetic future. Let the enemy know today - - that you are half-way there and you will not turn back! Tell Satan that your past has been left behind and covered under the blood of Jesus!

HINDRANCES TO CROSSING OVER

Greetings!

We are in the Hebrew month of Elul (the month of searching our hearts, repentance, and sanctification). This is the month to "prepare the people of God to cross over into their inheritance - - their prophetic future!"

The word of the Lord on yesterday (Sunday, September 10th) was to remind us that there were HINDRANCES which kept the children of Israel from "crossing over" into their prophetic promises - - Canaan. READ 1 Corinthians 10:1-13. You will find that in verses 5-10, God was not pleased and they died in the wilderness BEFORE ever "crossing over" because of these 5 Hindrances:

5 Hindrances To Crossing Over!

1. Lust/Greed - They craved, longed for, desired the things of the past (Egypt). They were controlled by their earthly nature. The Word tells us that we are to "abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul" (1 Pet. 2:11). Our souls must desire, crave, yearn for the Lord (see Ps. 42:2, Ps. 84:2, Isa. 26:9)! LET US NOT LET LUST/GREED HINDER OUR PROPHETIC FUTURE!!

2. Idolatry - They worshipped "man-made gods." They exchanged glory of God for an image (Rom. 1:23). The Word tells us that we are to shun idolatry (1 Cor. 10:14; 1 Cor. 6:9). LET US NOT LET MAN-MADE IDOLS (homes, cars, etc.) HINDER OUR PROPHETIC FUTURE!

3. Sexual Immorality - The people of God sinned sexually and in one day 23,000 died! The Word tells us to "be holy," that our bodies are the "temple of the Holy Spirit" (1 Cor. 6:19-20) and we are to honor God with our bodies! LET US NOT LET SEXUAL IMMORALITY HINDER OUR PROPHETIC FUTURE!

4. Tempting/Testing God - The dangers of "testing" God is death. It's dangerous because the purpose of testing is to see if the training and knowledge can elevate a person to another level. They have been "proved" and therefore "approved." When we test God, we are in essence making Him "prove himself" so that we can elevate Him. GOD IS ALREADY EXALTED! LET US NOT TEST GOD AND HINDER OUR PROPHETIC FUTURE!

5. Complaining - The people of God complained and were destroyed because of it. To complain is to murmur, to grumble, to find fault with others and with God. Complaining shows discontent, dissatisfaction and expresses resentment. They complained against spiritual leadership (Ex. 15:24), they complained about their hardships (Num. 11:1), they complained against the Lord (Ex. 16:7-9), and they even complained in the "privacy" of their tents [homes] (Deut. 1:27). The Word says for us to "do all things without grumbling" (Philippians 2:14). LET US NOT COMPLAIN FOR IT WILL HINDER OUR PROPHETIC FUTURE!

REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED IN THE WILDERNESS - - Let US search our hearts and offer up prayers of repentance as we prepare to enter our prophetic futures! We are praying for YOU!

There is a new prophetic season of the Lord coming in a couple of weeks. Those in the Body of Christ recognizing the times and seasons of the Lord will be moving forward toward crossing over into this new prophetic season. In preparation of ENTERING INTO PROPHETIC PROMISES, we have prepared a "10-Day Scripture Reading & Prayer Guide" beginning Tuesday, September 12 through Thursday, September 21, 2006. (See Attached Document) We invite you to corporately join us during these ten days of reading the Word and praying the Word as we spiritually position ourselves for advancement into our prophetic futures.

There are four prayer watches that you can select to join in with us. Please email us back with the prayer watch you have selected so that we can group at least two of you together ("one will put a thousand to flight, two ten thousand!") THEN...watch the Lord propel you "suddenly!"

In All Things Give Praise

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers [and sisters], whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you (Philippians 4:4-9, ESV).

We must praise the Lord in every situation. Rejoice because of what God has already done for us. Do not worry about anything, but pray about everything and begin to thank God for his will. Because what ever the answer is, it is what is best for us. If we do these things (pray and praise) God has promised us peace, remarkable peace. So, even if God does not calm the storm, God will give us peace in the midst of it.

God tells us how to keep his peace: with positive thinking. The power of our peace rests in our minds. In order to remain in God’s perfect peace, our minds must remain on God’s perfect will: God’s word, God’s works, God’s wisdom, and God’s wealth. We must:

· Live and breathe God’s word;

· Praise God for his works;

· Pray for God’s wisdom; and

· Pray and praise God for his wealth.

God’s wealth is the gifts and blessings that he has given, is giving, and will give his people. So, rejoice for God is good. Our peace is dependent on our praises and prayers. God cares about our concerns. We must pray and trust that God will work on our behalf; and in all things give praise.

More than Enough: An Encouraging Word

"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

My God is more than enough for me. He’s Jehovah Jireh, my Provider. He supplies all my needs and most of my wants. God is not stingy. As long as I do all the Scriptures tell me to do I will prosper.

As a born again believer, I am receiving the blessings of Abraham, which includes spiritual, emotional, physical, and material blessings.

God is Jehovah Shamma, He is with me. I am standing on His word when He said, Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age(Matt. 28:19). So I don’t fret or worry about food, clothes, a roof over my head, being talked about or mistreated. As long as I know God is with me, I know NO weapon form against me shall prosper!

God is Jehovah Rapha, my healer. I know by His stripes I am made whole. I can’t count the times God has come to my rescue when I was sick. I call on God before I call on man. My medical bills has a zero balance since I came to myself and realized all I had to do was to live right and have faith in Jesus as a healer, rebuke the devil in the name of Jesus and see the wondrous work of Jesus suddenly.

Knowing this and more about the Great Jehovah I can’t help but to say He’s More Than Enough for Me and He can be the same for you. “Oh, taste and see that the lord is good; Psalm 34:8.

I like this position because I can fit in anywhere in the body of Christ. I am an encourager and an edifier; indeed, I am a helper in the body of Christ; for, this is my passion. Praise the Lord!

"Encouragement dismantles the rage, hate, and fear that have been cooked up by the enemy and injected like venom into the veins of an otherwise healthy, powerful, valuable soul--a soul that is mighty in Christ and a great threat to Satan's army. Encouragement, like a hand reaching down, helps to lift a soul up to stand and claim his or her rightful position in Christ."

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURES - Encourage Yourself And the people, the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day. Judges 20:22 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 ...be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. They helped everyone his neighbor, and everyone said to his brother, "Be of good courage." Isa. 41:6

Therefore, take your eyes off of your problems and situations and encourage yourself without measure that you may have wherewith to encourage others also without measures.

Preparing A Battle Plan

"For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength, and ye would not." (Isaiah 30:15, KJV)

Pastor Benny Hinn presented information on identifying the strongman and the various evil spirits that are associated with certain demon powers last week. This leadership series greatly enlightened me on the topic of spiritual warfare. After engaging the message, I was inspired to re-examine the way I do spiritual battle, and it was revealed to me that we cannot always approach the battle in the same manner.

The strategy used for a battle depends on many factors. All things considered, one must clearly understand the situation and the location of the battle before proceeding to fight.

Do you know what you are up against?

Who is the true enemy?

How is the problem being presented?

What magnifies the situation?

Who is involved?

Where is the problem coming from?

What must you do to resolve it?

The point I am making is that we often rush into a conflictual situation without clearly understanding what we are dealing with. To evaluate the problem takes more time than many of us are willing to invest; however, time invested up front saves time and resources at the end. Preparation time makes for an easier resolution. Are you taking the time necessary to solve you problems or do you just rush right in on an emotional impulse? Slow yourself down and think things through in prayer.

The New International Version and the New Living Translation of the passage sited earlier read:

"This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel says: 'In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.'" (Isaiah 30:15, NIV)

"The Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel says: 'Only in returning to me and waiting for me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength, but you would have none of it'." (Isaiah 30:15, NLT)

The difference in the way these passages read may determine how well you understand what is being said. The same is true for battle plans. The way you formulate them may make the difference in how well you execute them.

Lord, God, please help us to see clearly what the enemy has plotted against us. Empower us with spiritual insight that we may discern what is your perfect will for us in every situation. Lord help us stay focused on the real problem and not get carried away with minor distractions so we can resolve conflicts quickly. Thank you for hearing and answering our prayer. Women of God!!! The word of the Lord for you today is - - STAY HEAVY!

God designed you to carry His "full weight!" What a great and powerful ministry you are called to.

Colossians 2:9-10 (NLT) "For in Christ (Jesus) the FULLNESS OF GOD lives in a human and you are COMPLETE through your union with Christ. He is the Lord over every ruler and authority in the universe."

The "fullness of God" is the glory of God. And, the glory of God is the "full weight" of God.

There will be some who will be jealous of the "full weight" you are carrying. Don't be surprised. Satan was jealous of the glory - the "full weight" of God Eve carried in the Garden. Don't be deceived! Be watchful (and prayerful) in this hour of those who would desire to get close to you. They just might be sent by the enemy to strip you of your spiritual weight. After all, Satan knows that when women truly wake up and realize how valuable they are and what they were originally designed to carry - the fullness of God, the authority that will come forth out of their mouths against him, and against every evil power and principality, their words will be backed by the whole host of heaven! Glory to God!

So my sisters - - WALK HEAVY!

When you Pray - - Pray Heavy!
When you Preach - - Preach Heavy!
When you Prophesy - - Prophesy Heavy!
When you Praise - - Praise Heavy!

In the spirit, this is no time to be caught up in "losing weight!" Keep your Weight On!! Get Heavy & Stay Heavy!
